PRESIDENTS BLOG 06/03/2016
6th March, 2017
The Chamber AGM took place on Tuesday 7th February where it was voted and agreed that I would remain President for a further year. I feel that the last 12 months have been a complete whirl wind whilst finding my feet and getting used to the president’s role. I've also spent a lot of time making contacts and working out the dynamics of the towns various organisations and only just feel like I am in a position to really drive the Chamber forward, which is the reason I have agreed to stand for another year.
Also at the AGM Karen Harvey (Acorn Guest House) remained our Vice President, the current committee remained in place with the addition of Rob Winder from Burnett’s Solicitors. Attached are the minutes from the meeting showing full details, these have also been uploaded on our member’s section of the Chamber website. If you have misplaced your login details, please contact our secretary, Patricia Benson, on firstname.lastname@example.org who will be happy to email them over.
Our first “Pots of Money” meeting took place on 22nd of February and your local ambassador will be on their way to see you very soon (if they haven’t been already) to discuss how your area would like to spend their money.
There are lots of events planned this year with the next being a General Business meeting on Tuesday 7th March with the discussion of the night being “Business Rates Review”. This meeting is being held at Dodd and Co and will also give me a chance to show case our new floor at our Penrith office. I have attached a full list of this year’s events and hope to see you during the year.
