Business Breakfast Forums: Spring Series #1 - Town Centre Performance

24th April, 2019

Penrith Chamber of Trade & Commerce has teamed up with Eden District Council to invite Lancaster University to co-host a series of three fully-funded (free!) Business BReakfast Forum events this spring. These breakfast meetings follow the successful format already used by the Chamber, but introduce some external ideas, expertise and challenges from leading academic thinkers. The topics have been chosen to encourage good discussion and debate around important, but often challenging, subjects.

Breakfast rolls, tea, coffee and fruit juice will be available.  Please let us know your preference for your breakfast roll when you book.

Session #1 - Town Centre Performance

We hear about the decline of the high street and the challenges facing towns across the UK, but how do we need to think differently about the role of towns - and Penrith in particular - in supporting the economy and society? This presentation and discussion led by Dr Chris Ford of Lancaster University draws in latest research on ecosystem performance and town centre experience, which he is working on with Dr Cathryn Hart of Loughborough University.

The business engagement team from Lancaster will be on site at each event, and available until 10am to discuss the wide range of business support services offered.

The events will be held at The George Hotel, Penrith, from 8:00 - 9:30.  To book your free place, click here.
