Business Forums: Spring Series #3 - Business Ecosystems in Eden, Cumbria & Beyond

19th June, 2019

Penrith Chamber of Trade & Commerce has teamed up with Eden District Council to invite Lancaster University to co-host a series of three fully-funded (free!) Business Forum events this spring. These breakfast meetings follow the successful format already used by the Chamber, but introduce some external ideas, expertise and challenges from leading academic thinkers. The topics have been chosen to encourage good discussion and debate around important, but often challenging, subjects.

A selection of pastries, tea and coffee will be available.

Session #3 - Business Ecosystems in Eden, Cumbria & Beyond

The importance of businesses clusters for collaboration, knowledge sharing and profitable growth has been written about a great deal.  But most of the time the writings are focussed on major metropolitan areas, or science parks, or high tech centres like Silicon Valley.  However, research going on new is examining the potential for new policies to be developed across Cumbria that support ecosystem growth and prosperity.  This session is co-presented by Professor Ian Convery of University of Cumbria, and Dr Chris Ford of Lancaster University.

The business engagement team from Lancaster will be on site at each event, and available until 10am to discuss the wide range of business support services offered.

The events will be held at The George Hotel, Penrith, from 8:00 - 9:30.  To book your free place, click here.
