Penrith Jobcentre to remain open

We have been advised today, by the Department of Work & Pensions, that Penrith Jobcentre will not be closing.

DWP were encouraged by the positive responses received from stakeholders and other interested parties. Many local organisations expressed a desire to work more closely or in partnership with DWP to further support them in delivering an enhanced customer service.

Penrith Chamber of Trade & Commerce will continue discussions with DWP regarding the ongoing commercial feasibility of delivering the service form the Jobcentre’s Friargate premises.
